Happy Birthday Michael! You will be forever missed but your music will forever live on. Thanks for all you have done, you were definitely the man in the mirror that made a change. Love you always and forever...

...Happy Birthday MJ...

Check out this fashion MJ inspired look video!

...Blah...

I hope it clears out today so that we can have our last family BBQ of the year :( My baby is off to NY with my uncle to celebrate his other friends b-day...I miss him already!

On another note, I am a bit upset. Remember when I told you guys that I was excited to start work because I finallly received my clearances to do so?? Well I got an email back from boss lady talking about she is negotiating our stay as the church that is renting the building out to her has decided to move. I was angry becaause I am dying to start work so I can quickly do what I got to do but it seems like now I have to wait some more. The move is scheduled for October so she mentioned she will get back to me sometime next week when she gets more info.

I hope this doesn't backfire for me. I am thinking I should start looking again just in case. I hate looking and interviewing etc...

....UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE....

Been away for a bit focusing on some other things. Just caught up on reading and commenting some of my fave blogs. I been kinda BLAH lately. Waiting for something to happen really soon. I know it's just around the corner but anxious for it to begin already! Ok...it's my JOB! LOL

I recently received clearances to begin work. Now all I need to do is wait for boss lady to call so we can discuss details like start date etc. I am so excited because this is going to be different for me. Many of you know that I have went to school to study Paralegal (which I still plan to finish because I got about 6 classes left and Bre starts what she finishes no matter how late it is...lol) so yeah, I will be working at a private christian school for now servicing K-5 kids. Now I have had my fair share of working with kids when I was younger (which was always so fun for me) but this time I will be working in the office as an Executive Assistant to the Principal who by the way seems VERY nice. I am so excited to just start!!! lol

Me and the babes have been apartment/houses hunting. Living in my moms house has been quite crowded so we are very anxious about this too. It was sweet of her to open her doors to us when we moved back here to Philly from Massachusetts but it's about that time to get our own place. I want a house but a house for rent for right now. I know this is a GREAT buyers market right now but I need to make sure I am ready for all that and more that comes with home ownership. So far I found a 3 bedroom house with a finished basement and HUGE backyard for $800 a month and I love how its one block over from my moms house and if I move in; my next door neighbors are my aunt and uncle who we like chill with practically every day! lol I am still looking tho because there was a few things I did not like about it...I mean nothing major but just want to have some options when making a decision.

On another note...FALL FASHION 2009! I am loving ALL of the new trends although I know I won't be rocking them all because lets face it...if its trend it don't mean it suits you...lol But hey I ain't cramping no ones style so if you open to it do you! Anyways, I began to create my wish list already...can't wait to go SHOPPING! lol Some of my top must haves are pictured below but this isn't even half...lol these are just my key items for fall:

Pictured above - Tan Bomber Jacket, Fall Aviator Shades, Layered Cardigan, Destroyed Jeans, Peplum Style Tweed Dress, Purple Beret Hat (I want ALL colors) Military Button Styled Jacket, Grey Knee High Boots, Black Cowgirl Slouched Boots, Snakeskin or Leopard Print Shoes, Peep Toe Booties, Houndstooth Print Scarves.

If you guys have any fall fashion must haves let me know! I would love to see what you might be getting into this fall in Fashion.

I so need to do this!

Seven simple steps to an organized closet

  • You need to be able to see what you're doing. Move everything onto the bed and separate those items that need to visit the tailor or cobbler.

  • Put your favorite pieces back in the closet, sorted into categories. Place those you wear the most (office pants, jeans, day dresses) in the most accessible location.

  • Once items are sorted by category, sort them by color.

  • Invest in uniform hangers; we like the super-thin Joy Mangano Huggable Hangers for tops (available at hsn.com) and basic clips for skirts and pants.

  • Shoes should be arranged in clear, stacking drawers or a wire grid system on the back of the closet door.

  • All sweaters should be buttoned, folded, and stacked, with the bulkiest on the bottom to create sturdy piles.

  • Make sure all of your clothing is clean before submitting it to long-term storage in your closet. And remove all items from dry-cleaning bags—they can trap chemicals that can break down fibers.

Got this wonderful peice of info from Lucky Magazine!

Fashion Fall Trends 2009 research continues...

Welcome to another installment of my fashion trends for Fall 2009 research. As I search the web as well as magazines I subscribe to; here are some key peices to think about for fall:

THE CARDIGAN

Although this screams summer time I wanted to show you the style of it. Bohemian layers!

This one is my FAVORITE! I love how its long but it has short layers in the front. You can wear this with anything! I love things all versatile!

Here is an example on how to rock the open cardi for work!
OOOh an dheres is the Bohemian look in Black...NICE!

Next trend I am seeing alot of is the:

Beanie or Beret Hats (wateva u wanna call it)

This is great to add some pop to an all black peacoat etc. Good for bad hair days and when you don't want to do your hair all glamafied....

The Duff, The RiRi and The Ferg know what's good with these great hats!

So does Tyra and B. I love how B is rocking her Beret!

MORE TO COME FOR FALL 2009 TRENDS! STAY TUNED ;)

Love,

Today I choose to Embrace.........ME

I came across an article on Clutch E-Magazine online where they were interviewing Jada Pinkett-Smith and she mentioned something that really stood out for me:

"Age has brought maturity and more comfort in my skin and in the world than I did in my 20s.”

“At that age, you’re looking for the dude to take care of you, or your mom. In your 30s, you start to connect with your own internal power. Once I decided to take care of myself, then everything else that was supposed to fall in place did.”

I am 26 years old now and I can look back and see how I always wanted to be rescued, always worried about what others thought of my personality and appearance. Last week I was reading up on old blog posts of mine circa 2003 and wow did I ever yearned to be rescued by a man. I think it's safe to say that many of us women (many will never admit to it) yearned to be rescued and accepted regardless of how independent she claimed to be. Many have danced around the living room listening to Aretha Franklin's I will Survive and R-E-S-P-E-C-T telling ourselves we didn't need the opposite sex only to find ourselves the next day sitting by the phone waiting on "the call".

As you get older you begin to realize that only YOU can make things happen and you shoul donly please and do for yourself. And like Jada says once you are intune with your internal power and take care of yourslef; only then will everything else that is supposed to fall into place, will. So I will embrace my 30's as it is just around the corner. Ain't nothing like getting to know me as I reflect upon the old me and rejoice in all of my new Woman goodliness!
